The Family Oriented Toyota Highlander Is a Premium Experience
The ever-popular Toyota Highlander is a midsized crossover SUV. It falls between the RAV4 and the larger Sequoia. Like the Sequoia, it has three rows of seating for a larger family, but its somewhat smaller size aids in its nimbleness while driving around Kingston. At McGee Toyota of Hanover, we also like the Highlander's showy looks and the available moonroof.
Toyota Highlander Performance
The Highlander gives you a little bit lower clearance to hug the road. Also, the suspension is tuned to help you get better road-handling. The available Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive is tuned to provide a 50/50 percent distribution of power between the front and rear axles. When a wheel needs more power, this system can provide it. The Highlander's V6 provides as much as 295 horsepower and 5,000 pounds of towing capacity.
Multi-Terrain Select on the all-wheel-drive Highlander models allows you to choose the surface you are driving on when you go off the paved road. This provides better traction on surfaces like mud, sand, dirt and snow. If that weren't enough, you have three driving modes to choose from. Sport Mode provides more acceleration, Eco Mode provides increased fuel economy around Marshfield and Normal Mode provides a mix of the two.
The Hybrid models provide two more driving modes. EV Mode will get you around with lower speeds around Hingham. Trail Mode is for all-wheel drive, off-pavement ventures. The Highlander Hybrid also has the option of an all-wheel drive that is available on demand. They Hybrid Highlander can get up to either 35 or 36 mpg, depending upon whether the model is the front- or all-wheel-drive model.
Toyota Highlander Interior
The Highlander is no slouch on its interior amenities either. A 12.3-inch touchscreen display is available, as are heated and ventilated front seats. You can also get a panoramic moonroof.
Toyota Highlander Technology
In terms of technology, Apple integration is available with your cell phone. Also, you can get an available 4G hotspot with connectivity for up to five devices simultaneously. There is an available audio system by JBLĀ®. You can also opt for a navigation package with your Highlander.
Toyota Highlander Safety Features
There are quite a number of safety systems on a Toyota Highlander. These include a pre-collision warning and then braking when you about to have a collision. Part of this system is a low-light detection system to help you avoid accidents with pedestrians. Adaptive cruise control helps you keep a steady pace and a safe distance from preceding cars. There is also a safety feature to help you if you sway out of your lane. Lane departure alert will first provide a warning and then help you steer back in the lane. There is also a blind-spot monitor and parking assistance in the rear and the front.
