Do You Know the Most Important Warning Lights on Your Toyota?

Dashboard icons are displayed in a variety of colors, depending on the system and its status in a specific vehicle. Yellow icons indicate an item of importance (such as low fuel), but are not necessarily a warning. Red icons indicate a condition that requires immediate attention, such as an open door or low engine oil pressure. See your vehicle's Owner's Manual for more details.

Should a safety system light such as the ABS and SRS airbag warning lights not come on when you start the hybrid system, this could mean that these systems are not available to help protect you in an accident, which could result in death or serious injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately if this occurs.

Malfunction Indicator Lamp

Indicates a malfunction in the control systems of either the engine, throttle or transmission. Have the vehicle inspected by McGee Toyota immediately.

Low Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

Indicates that the engine oil pressure is too low. Further use has the possibility of damaging the vehicle's engine.

Tire Pressure Warning Light

Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified level. The light will turn off after a few minutes. In case the light does not turn off even if the tire inflation pressure is adjusted, see McGee Toyota.

Electric Power Steering System Warning Light

Indicates that the Electric Power Steering system is malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by McGee Toyota immediately.

Brake System Warning Light

Indicates a malfunction in the Regenerative Braking System or Electronically Controlled Braking System. See McGee Toyota immediately.

Hybrid System Overheat Warning Light

Indicates that the Hybrid System is overheating, typically due to severe operating conditions like driving up a long, steep hill. Stop, inspect the system and allow time to cool.

Go-To-Service Warning Light

Indicates that maintenance of the hybrid battery cooling component is required. The filter may be clogged, air intake vent may be blocked or there may be a gap in the duct.

Automatic Headlight Leveling System Warning Light

Indicates a malfunction in the automatic headlight leveling system. See McGee Toyota immediately.

Charging Indicator Warning Light

Indicates a malfunction in the charging system. Consult your Owner's Manual for more details and steps to take for correction.

Smart Key System Warning Light

The buzzer sounds when the sensors are operating. The buzzer increases as the vehicle approaches an obstacle, when close the buzzer sounds continuously.

Master Warning Light

A buzzer sounds and the warning light flashes to indicate that the master warning system has detected a malfunction.
